Skipper Colin Barnes has years of experience fishing and mapping the seabed off West Cork. He specialises in close encounters with whales and dolphins in these waters. Fin, humpback and minke whales are encountered along with common dolphins, bottlenose and risso dolphins, seals and a variety of sea birds. Cork Whale Watch trips depart from Reen Pier which is 4km from Union Hall village, West Cork. The whale watching vessel, the Holly Jo, is licenced and insured for 12 passengers, has a spacious deck with ample outside seating, an enclosed cabin with upholstered seating and a small galley for making tea and coffee. Advance booking is essential in peak season. Trips are suitable for all ages and no sea going experience is required. All voyages are subject to reasonable weather conditions.
