Carlow Arts Festival is the first big cultural event of the summer. Taking place across a week in June, the festival boasts a line-up with music, theatre, visual art, dance, circus, as well as plenty of family events and delicious food and drink.

In its 39th year, the festival continues to grow and reach out to talented artists from both Ireland and abroad. Amongst the highlights of the festival’s programme are a double-bill concert of folk from Lisa O’Neill and Radie Peat in the O’Hara’s Festival Pavilion, a performance of Mouthpiece by the Quote Unquote theatre collective from Canada at VISUAL Arts Centre, and What Am I Worth? which is an extraordinary display of acrobatics and dance by a group of disabled and non-disabled performers, taking place at the Festival’s HQ in Carlow College.

As well as the artistic performance, Carlow itself will be alive with the festival, with free exhibitions to visit, artisanal food stalls and craft beers available from the O’Hara’s Festival Pavilion.
