Since it launched in 2007, Bloom has become Ireland’s premiere horticultural showcase. It has become the Irish equivalent to the likes of the Chelsea Flower Show and the Hampton Court Palace shows in the UK, providing a platform for the country’s top gardeners to display their work.
Each year, 70 acres at the heart of the Phoenix Park are given over to Bloom In The Park, with show gardens by Ireland’s best gardeners which form the centrepiece of the five-day festival. There are also miniature “postcard” gardens, sculpture gardens, plant displays, and the Victorian Walled Kitchen Gardens in the Phoenix Park Visitors Centre to visit.
Beyond the greenery there is also plenty of refreshment and entertainment on offer, with a food village featuring stalls from local producers, as well as music and children’s entertainment.
Around the city also there a number of Bloom Fringe events taking place at the same time, which are often feature quirky takes on horticultural theme around the city.
