The Inniscarra reservoir is also known as Inniscarra lake. It is one of two reservoirs in the Lee Valley, resulted from the development of the Lee Hydro-electric Scheme in 1956.
Inniscarra Dam was constructed in the 1950s as part of the Lee Valley Hydro-electric scheme. The Dam is located west of Ballincollig just off the northern R.618 route to Coachford and Macroom.
Inniscarra Lake in County Cork is the centre for coarse angling where it is not unusual to catch over 100lbs of bream in a day.
