Liz Roche's Wrongheaded originally premiered at the 2016 edition of Dublin Fringe Festival, but appears here at the Dublin Dance Festival in an extended form.

The work emerged originally as calls for the repeal of the eighth amendment grew, and the political campaign for women’s reproductive rights began to take centre stage in the Irish political landscape. It is being revisited this year on the eve of the referendum.

Wrongheaded features powerful dance performance accompanied by the words of Galway poet Elaine Freeney, the music of Ray Harman, and the film work of Mary Wycherly.

And intense and emotional performance, Wrongheaded addresses women’s control over their own bodies, and their own freedoms in 21st century Ireland.
