Castle Townshend has been the home of the Townshend family in Ireland for eleven generations. The Castle stands in spacious grounds overlooking the peaceful waterfront of Castletownshend harbour. A place to really get away from it all and relax.

Castle Townshend has been the home of the Townshend family in Ireland for eleven generations. The central part of the Castle was built around 1650 and, when the original castles were destroyed in the 17/18th centuries, the stone was used to add the east and west towers. The village of Castletownshend is centred around the steep main road that leads down to the Castle, the quayside and the harbour. The Castle itself stands in spacious grounds overlooking the peaceful waterfront of Castletownshend harbour. This is a place to really get away from it all and relax.

The Castle has eleven ensuite guest rooms, and offers bed and breakfast. Facilities include free Wifi, the Honesty bar, and a cafe on-site serving coffee, cakes, and light lunches. There are two pubs in the village, including the award-winning Mary Ann's which serves food all day.
Skibbereen market town is 8km away (10mins drive), and Cork City is 80km (1hour 20mins drive) making Castletownshend a perfect base for a West Cork retreat.
