Uncle Michael’s Cottage has been lovingly restored to provide luxury self catering accommodation. Located on the borders of Leitrim, Cavan and Fermanagh and only a stone's throw from counties Sligo and Donegal this is a stunning stone cottage, overlooking beautiful Lough MacNean, is the perfect getaway.
The cottage was originally a family farm house, built in late 1800’s and Uncle Michael lived there until 1992. The property has recently been restored to its original glory and is now a modern home, decorated to the highest standards, whilst still retaining many of its original features. The external stone walls which have been retained from the original build blend beautifully with the new. It is fully equipped for a family holiday, a weekend away or an activity break. The spacious cottage has been tastefully decorated to a superb standard throughout. It offers one large triple bedroom, two large double bedrooms and free WiFi.
The West of Cavan, North Leitrim, West Fermanagh locality has so much to offer with its unspoilt countryside and magnificent views of its lakes and mountains. There is an abundance of walking and cycling trails and heritage sites to explore, all within a few minutes walk or short drive from the cottage. Just some of the local attractions are: Glenfarne Nature Trail with its beautiful marked walks along the scenic Lough MacNean is just 1 mile from the cottage. The Cavan Burren Park, a unique and prehistoric landscape of monuments, megalithic tombs and spectacular geology which is recognised as one of the finest relict landscapes of its size in all of Ireland.
