Naughton Gallery at Queen's

The Naughton Gallery is named after its benefactors Martin and Carmel Naughton. The Naughton Gallery, located in the historic Lanyon Building at Queen’s University, is an award winning registered museum recognised for its achievements in the care, documentation and display of the University’s art collection. Since 2001, The Naughton Gallery has become one of Belfast’s most sought after and exciting visual arts platforms, featuring a rolling programme across contemporary and historic art practice. We present up to nine exhibitions per year and we provide a platform for visual arts that reflect and respond to areas of academic endeavour. Exhibitions feature works from the University’s own collection, touring exhibitions and shows by local and international artists. The University's extensive art collection includes paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture, furniture, metalwork and silver. The collection is on display throughout the University with an impressive hang of over forty portraits in the Great Hall. The Naughton Gallery welcomes 15,000 annual visitors including a significant number of international tourists. The Gallery is listed in 'Ten of the Best university galleries in the UK and Ireland' by The Times Higher.
