Despite the fact that he died over 20 years ago, Jeff Buckley’s name and voice still hold a strong fascination for music fans around the world.

Jeff Buckley was the son of Tim Buckley, a folk singer with jazz influences and a spectacular voice, who himself died young after an accidental drug overdose. After years scraping around in a variety of different musical outfits, Jeff moved to New York City where he made his name performing in small cafés around downtown Manhattan, before signing to Columbia Records, and eventually releasing his debut – and only – full-length record, Grace, in 1994.

In 1997, while preparing his follow-up album in Memphis, Buckley accidentally drowned in the Wolf River. His massive musical potential would go unfulfilled.

Dave Lory was Buckley’s manager, and also author of a recent book, From Hallelujah to the Last Goodbye, which traces Jeff’s career from Sin-é café to his tragic death. Lory will be on stage with Jim Irvin answering questions about Buckley’s life and career, and fans will be able to contribute questions to the process too.
