The Irish Sailing and Mountaineering Adventure Challenge, known as the ISAMAC, is an incredible athletic event that combines some of the most breathtaking yachting and mountain-running in the country.

Starting at Kinsale Yacht Club and ending in John Benny’s Pub in Dingle, crews of five team up to race in a beastly athletic challenge that takes in rowing boats, sailing yachts, paddling dinghies, cycling bikes, scaling mountains and a good deal of running thrown in for good measure.

Truly not a task for the faint-hearted, the ISAMAC covers a distance of around 500 kilometres in total, and it also involves scaling Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s tallest peak, as well as Mount Brandon. However, it promises not only the thrill of achievement but an opportunity to see some of the most remote and beautiful parts of our country.
