When Yoga Teacher Fiona Jones returned from Canada several years ago she was so taken by the beauty and peace of the forest on her doorstep that she organised her first Yoga morning here five years ago, in back in 2013.

This Mindful Morning starts with a gentle Hatha Yoga class at the Laragh Lodge Restaurant situated at the base of the Falls and overlooking the lush trees & flowing Inver River. Yoga is mood boosting and relaxing and sets the scene for the Forest Experience

The class is followed by refreshments (teas/coffee and delicious homemade shortbread cookies) and a quick change into suitable clothing and we commence our walk.The pace is gentle ( we stop to smell the wild garlic. Visitors are given an historical and cultural backdrop to the forest park however the emphasis is on Mother Nature.
We take in the flora, fauna and keep an eye out for the native red squirrels. Somewhere along the way we stop for a mindful meditation and an aptly named 'tree pose' to ground and centre us. Recent studies have highlighted the many benefits both physical and mental /emotional of walking mindfully in the forest.It is said to lower heart rates and reduce stress hormones.
We now know that tress emit essential oils which have been shown to enhance our immune systems. So, the forest walk is not just fun and enjoyable it is also a form of eco- therapy. Then it is back to the Laragh for a main course lunch.Allow us to enhance your visit to this culturally stimulating & shockingly beautiful landscape.Fiona is a now also a Level 3 trained Tour Guide and speaks some French & Italian although tours are usually in English.

Mindful yoga mornings run the last Saturday of the month.
