You need a valid passport to enter the Republic or Northern Ireland.

Air and sea carriers require some form of photo identification (usually either a passport or driving licence), so ALWAYS check what form of ID is required with your individual airline, ferry company or travel agent before travelling.

While e-passports are commonly used now, you don't need one to enter Ireland.

GCC national visitors to the Republic of Ireland require an Irish visa. GCC national visitors to Northern Ireland require a UK visa.

Republic of Ireland visa procedures

An online visa application facility for Ireland is available to GCC national visitors. You can apply online at the Irish Nationalisation and Immigration Service (INIS). Once your application is completed you must then submit your documentation to the relevant Irish Embassy, visa office or Consulate.

Visas for Northern Ireland

GCC national visitors to Northern Ireland require a UK visa. For further information and guidelines, please visit VFS Global.

Short stay Visa Waiver Program

The Short-Stay Visa Waiver Scheme allows GCC visitors who have valid UK visit visas to also visit Ireland, without the need for an Irish visa.
