Visit the award winning Wicklow Brewery in the village of Redcross, with many craft beers. Take an intimate tour of the brewery followed by a social beer tasting in the beautiful beer-hall. Tours are daily at 14:00 and 17:00 (booking essential).

Wicklow Brewery is one of those rare things in Ireland – a micro-brewery with a licence to sell its own beer. The brewery is an offshoot of Mickey Finn’s pub in the sleepy village of Redcross in Wicklow, standing in what was formerly a bakery.

The ash wood that shapes the counter top in the beer-hall came from a tree that fell in the local graveyard, while the spring well that feeds their taps flows from deep beneath the brewery grounds.

There are seven beers on tap in the brew house: Wicklow Helles, St Kevin’s Red Ale, Wicklow Weiss, WB-40 IPA, Hop Knut Pale Ale, Ginger Knut Beer and Black 16 Stout. Although the brewery only brewed its first beer in September 2014 it has already won over 20 beer awards in International competitions.

Brewery Tours take place daily at 14:00 and 17:00 or by request for larger bookings. The tour is fun and intimate and you start with an audio-visual followed by a brewery tour and end with a tasting of the seven beers in the beer-hall.

Right across the courtyard from the brewery you can find Mickey Finn’s Pub.

Winner of Ireland’s Best Food Pub at VFI National Awards 2017 and Wicklow’s Best Hospitality/Eating at 2017 Chamber Awards. Guests are encouraged to try a unique beer and food tasting experience. Enjoy Mussels marinated in Wicklow Weiss beer, Wicklow Helles lager battered cod, Black 16 Stout pie and the famous Beeramisiu dessert. Great Steaks and delicious fish of the day specials are all matched to one of the Wicklow Brewery’s award winning beers.

Make a night of it and stay on for a traditional music session every Wednesday or enjoy an Irish ‘Hooley in the Brewery’ on the weekends.

It is a beautiful place – a celebration of wood, music and tradition, with the warm aroma of hops wrapping itself around everything. Take the tour, try the beer, stay for lunch and enjoy the brewery and the village.

The Wicklow Brewery is a 50 minute drive from Dublin by car. Make it part of your journey around the Garden of Ireland.
