One of Norway's most distinct and dynamic performers is bringing her brand new album to the National Concert Hall.

One of Norway's most distinct and dynamic performers, Susanna has never been afraid to put her very own spin on popular music.

From hauntingly beautiful recordings with her band Susanna and the Magical Orchestra of classics like Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' and AC/DC's 'It's a Long Way to the Top' – to name but a few – to her powerful originals and collaborations with the likes of Jenny Hval and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, she's an artist who asks big questions: What should a song sound like? What should it say?

Her twelfth and latest record, 'Go Dig My Grave', is a thorough examination of traditional songs from England to America cut to fit within the parameters of her own unique style. There are echoes of Henry Purcell and Lou Reed. Leonard Cohen seems to creep in at times. There's beautiful harp by the inimitable Swiss baroque player Giovanni Pessi and the instrumental stylings of accordion player Frode Haltli and fiddler Sarah-Jane Summers.

It's intensely personal and yet somehow still feels like being treated to something universal – a piece of musical heritage we can all share and love. Performed live, it's sublime.
