Ely Lodge Forest is part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark and is the setting for many outdoor activities such as fishing, boating and birding. Access is possible by boat at Carrickreagh Jetty located on Lower Lough Erne, part of the Shannon Erne waterway. The area provides several good vantage points for watching wildfowl and water birds. Amongst other species, the Lough is home to the great crested crebe, mute swan and a variety of ducks such as merganser and tufted.
The 250ha of woodland contains a delightful mixture of coniferous and broadleaved trees. Each season of the year brings its own special atmosphere to this lovely lakeside forest. Spring with the delicate tints of new leaves overhanging and carpets of bluebells.
