The Quay Cottage is a delightful harbourside restaurant at the gates of Westport House and serving the best of Irish food with French flair. Menu includes delicious seafood, meat, seasonal game and veggie dishes.
The Quay Cottage is exactly what you’d dream of finding on your holiday in the West of Ireland. Located on the seafront, right beside the entrance gates to Westport House, it has captivated diners for years. The front is a traditional and very charming Irish cottage but inside, the restaurant opens out to a surprisingly spacious interior. The nautically inspired decor has a wonderful variety of marine objets d’art ornamenting the walls, and even ceilings in some cases. The atmosphere is warm, intimate and welcoming.
The seasonally inspired menu changes regularly but always includes tempting seafood, meat, seasonal game and vegetarian dishes. Created by head chef Michel Nagy, it combines the very best of Irish produce and French flair. Under the management of Kirstin McDonagh, The Quay Cottage is beloved of locals and visitors alike.
