The Forge Restaurant is located in the heart of the Irish farming countryside Ballon, County Carlow offering visitors a traditional Irish cooking experience.
Renowned for their scones, jam, tarts and wholesome meals, owner Mary Jordan and her team are passionate about providing fresh and locally sourced ingredients to enhance the flavour of Irish dishes. The Forge Restaurant meat is sourced through local butcher Michael McAssey ensuring highest standards of traceability.
The restaurant, operating from the beautifully restored 120 year old granite building, carries on the tradition of the four cross roads as a meeting place where passers can have some lunch, do business, or simply share life's little moments over a cup of tea.
Breakfast is served from 9.30am until 12pm and lunch from 12.30pm until 3pm.
Their lunch specials change daily according to availability of fresh produce. Some popular dishes include roast beef, fish pie and lasagne. They also have a wide selection of desserts including pavalova, apple tart and freshly baked scones.
