Located just outside Dublin City Centre in Palmerstown, The Baking Academy is dedicated to the art and craft of bread baking, cake baking, chocolate making and sugar craft decoration. They offer courses to students of all ages and abilities.
The Baking Academy offers a wide range of courses. Pastry Baking, Bread for beginners, Sugar Craft and Chocolate are just a few courses on offer. They also run specialized courses throughout the year, for example Children’s Midsummer Baking Baketacular, Father’s Day Baking and Teenager Baking Camp.
The teachers are experienced bakers, confectioners, pastry and sugar craft specialists, so students can be sure that they are getting top quality tuition. They limit the class sizes to 12 people in order to make sure that each student can have personal attention and learn in a more hands on, practical way.
With great facilities, including individual worktops for up to 12 students and modern appliances supplied by Miele, the Academy offers a professional, practicle and fun learning environment.
The Baking Academy was established by Master Baker Derek O’Brian, who is head of the English language Diploma in German Baking programme at the prestigious International Baking Academy in Germany. He is extremely enthusiastic about his craft and about teaching others the skills necessary to bake at home successfully.
