The West Clare Railway and Heritage Centre

Visit nearby Poulnasheery Bay with it's wonderful wildlife habitiats and walk in the unique boglands of Monmore with its rare flora. Ideal for touring groups, wedding groups and family photographs. Why not ' stoke up the fire ' and make tracks to Moyasta Junction. A day on the railway is an experience not to be missed. Enjoy a ride with diesel and steam trains on the famous narrow gauge West Clare Railway. Closed in 1961, the original Steam Locomotive and over 2km’s of line have been refurbished to full working order. A fun time for both children and adults. Opening hours: Monday to Friday:11am to 5pm (until Oct 2009) Train Journeys: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1pm to 5pm on the hour for the Steam Locomotive. All other times for the Diesel Locomotive.
