Knowth Passage Tombs

The site at Knowth has remained a focal point for over 4000 years. In the early Christian era Knowth was the seat of the Kings of the local Kingdom of Northern Brega. The construction has two separate major passages leading into two distinct burial chambers, both of which are outstanding for the richness of their megalithic art. Eighteen smaller tombs encircle the large tomb. Please note tours of 15 or more must be pre-booked. This is an extremely popular site and its not always possible to accommodatebookings. There is no access to interior at Knowth. All access is through Bru Na Boinne Visitors Centre.
