Taking a taxi is always the most comfortable option. However, the price does depend on the time of day, volume of traffic and of course how much luggage you have. Taxis to the city centre from the airport generally cost around €20. To estimate the distance to anywhere, use www.worldtaximeter.com/dublin. It will give you an approximation of what you should pay.
If you have a complaint about a taxi, note the taxi number (on the roof), and the name of the taxi driver, displayed on the dashboard on the passenger side of the car. You can make the complaint to The Commission for Taxi Regulation:
Address: 35 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Tel: 00353 1 659 3800
Email: commission@taxiregulator.ie
Web: www.taxiregulator.ie
Complaints cannot be made anonymously and you must put your complaint in writing in the available form. Typically, complaints refer to overcharging, the condition of the vehicle, or the conduct or behaviour of the driver. Retain any receipt obtained.
If your complaint is criminal in nature call the Garda Síochána by dialling 999 or 112.
