Old Jameson Distillery

The Old Jameson Distillery was founded in Smithfield in 1780 by John Jameson and, although whiskey is no longer produced here, the site has been redeveloped as a fantastic visitor centre. Welcoming over 250,000 visitors each year, this is not just a tour, but  a fascinating and engaging experience. The guided  tour will take you back in time to learn how John Jameson created his world renowned Uisce Beatha from just water, barley and yeast. Open 7 days all year, the journey begins with an audio-visual presentation followed by a walk through the recreated distillery and culminates in the Jameson Discovery Bar with a complimentary glass of Jameson and a chance to become a "Qualified Irish Whiskey Taster."

If you think you can tell your scotch from your bourbon be sure to put up your hand when the tour guide asks for volunteers as you will have a chance to see if you can tell the difference between various types of Irish, Scotch and American whiskey in a comparison taste test.

Corporate entertainment options are also available in a variety of distillery locations. Most widely known is the famous Jameson Shindig evening. Begin your gala event with a private tour of the distillery, where you and your guests will savour an aperitif of Jameson's signature drink followed by a 4 course meal and live entertainment that will surely whet anyone’s appetite for a night of music, dance, good food and fun!
