Fri 10 Oct 2007Beam me up, SimonShaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz star Simon Pegg has been beamed up into the role of Scotty in Star Trek, JJ Abram's prequel that is set during the USS Enterprise crew's time as cadets at Starfleet Academy.Scotty was originally played by James Doohan in the 1966-69 TV series, as well as a 1973-74 animated series and seven feature films.
