Michael DwyerDURING the recording of Scott Walker's most recent album The
Drift, he unnerved the 36-piece orchestra when he instructed them
to sound like "World War II bombers slowly approaching from 50
miles away and getting closer and closer". When Walker wanted to
simulate the sound of seagulls, his co-producer Peter Walsh managed
to get a guitarist to achieve the effect.
