Back for a sixth series, this entertaining reality show sees judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh join forces once again to find the next big thing in Britain. With a record number of entries and a slight variation on the usual audition process, this year's competition is guaranteed to be worth watching for fans of the popular singing contest.

Tonight's much-anticipated instalment features the fifth of the live studio shows where the final eight contestants will perform in front of the judges and the viewing public. This week has a movies theme, with each of the singers performing a classic theme tune from a film. Usual host Dermot O'Leary presents the show, which is followed by The Xtra Factor at 9.35pm, where Holly Willoughby, joined by guests Stephen Mulhern, Sheridan Smith, Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries, will chat to the remaining eight hopefuls about how they think their performances were received.
