20/10/02: Andre Agassi was handed the Madrid Masters Series title today when Czech Jiri Novak pulled out injured before the final.

The Czech said he had strained a groin muscle during his semi-final win over Fabrice Santoro yesterday.

Agassi is now 43 points behind Lleyton Hewitt in the Champions Race.
