Alberto Elli, the current race leader, finished 3rd in the last Pyreneean

Carlos Contreras (Kelme).
9.47 Doping Controls This Morning
There was a blood test for 35 riders this morning. Five riders from seven
teams were tested with none returning a hematocrit reading above the
legal 50 per cent limit.

The riders have begun to roll toward the official start on the outskirts of
