Ronaldo in line for PFA award

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to be crowned player's player of the year for a second consecutive year after being nominated by the Professional Footballers' Association.

The 23-year-old is also nominated for young player of the year which he won last year as well.

The Manchester United winger has enjoyed his best season with the club to date and has netted 37 goals in all competitions.

Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres are nominated for both awards, while Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor is up for the main award.

Torres, Liverpool's €25 million signing from Atletico Madrid last summer, has scored 29 and Adebayor 25.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and veteran England and Portsmouth goalkeeper David James are the other nominees.

Torres and Fabregas join Aston Villa duo Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young and Manchester City's Micah Richards among the young player nominees.
