Kenny blunder blunts Blades

Middlesbrough 1 Sheffield United 0:   Middlesbrough have booked their place in the last eight of the FA Cup with the most fortunate of extra-time goals against Championship side Sheffield United at the Riverside.

After brilliantly keeping the Premiership side at bay for 114 minutes of the fifth round replay Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Paddy Kenny palmed the ball into his own net after seeing Mido's deflected shot rebound off the crossbar and into his path.

Prone, and within a foot of his line, Kenny attempted to gather the ball, but only managed to direct it into his own and net and send his side out of the FA Cup.

Boro now meet Cardiff in the quarter-final.
