Murrayfield: home of Scottish rugby and scene of the record attendance for an international match when Scotland beat Wales 12-10 in front of 104,000 fans in 1975.

Since then the tartan army have cheered on World Cup legends like Gavin Hastings, Ivan Tukalo and John Jeffreys at the venue which now has a capacity of 68,000 since the 12-year renovation was completed in 1994.

This year a Scottish side without the weight of expectation that burdened predecessors will host Pool C opponents Romania and New Zealand on September 18th and 23rd, respectively, in the only two games scheduled for the old stadium.

As is the case with most venues, the All Blacks have been victorious here before. In the 1999 World Cup they ousted Scotland in the quarter-final by 30-18.

More recently the hosts were stunned by Italy in the Six Nations when the Azzurri had converted three tries within the opening seven minutes. Murrayfield strengthened French connections in 2005 when it hosted the European Cup final between Toulouse and Stade Francais in 2005.
