AIL Round-up: Cork Constitution recorded a fifth straight win to maintain their lead at the top of the AIL Division One table as second placed Garryowen also won to keep the pressure on.
Richie Lane was the primary difference in Con's win at Eaton Park as he touched down twice and is now the league's leading try scorer with nine.
The winger opened his account after just five minutes but it was the home side who led 10-7 at the interval after Chris Henry went over for Ballymena and Craig Woods kicked five points with the boot.
Although Woods scored 11 points in all, Jeremy Mannings's late penalty ensured the visitors made the long trip home with the narrow 18-16 win.
Third-placed Shannon travel to Dolphin in tomorrow's only Division One game.
