The Entertainer, will be looking to do just that in his semi-final game against Stephen Hendry at this year's Irish Masters competition. Parrott's only tournament victory this season came at the Nation's Cup. The Merseysider was captain of the England team that beat Wales in the final.
Aside from that victory, the best John Parrott has managed so far this season is a semi-final appearance at the B&H Masters at Wembley.
In 1991, Parrott became World Champion. He defeated his long term rival, Jimmy White, in the final. Later that year he won the UK Championship. John Parrott became one of only four players to have completed that double (Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and John Higgins were the other three).
The former World Champion has qualified for 33 professional finals and has won 15 of them. Nine of those wins occured in ranking events.
