Monaghan lodge complaint with CCCC

Monaghan county board chairman John Connolly lodged a complaint with the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) after an alleged head-butting incident during Sunday's NFL Division 2  game against Dublin at Parnell Park.

Connolly maintains 2007 All-Star Thomas Freeman was head-butted by a member of the Dublin management team immediately after the fractious game which ended in a draw.

"Thomas got a head-butt and was able to give a pretty detailed account of the fella (who) did it," said Connolly. "I asked him was it a player and he said it was a guy in an orange bib."

"It was reported immediately after the game to the Dublin secretary and their chairman, and in fairness to them, they heard us out and listened to what we had to say. I've put the whole thing in writing and to the CCCC up in Croke Park and it's up to them to sort it out."
