Cats keeper Gordon suffers setback

Gordon: Suffered a fractured arm

Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon suffered a fractured arm in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at White Hart Lane and faces a spell on the sidelines.

Gordon will have to withdraw from Scotland's squad for next Saturday's friendly against Wales.

Club medical staff will assess the severity of the injury in the coming days before determining how many matches he is likely to miss.

The Black Cats revealed Gordon's blow on their official website, explaining he suffered the fracture in a collision with Tottenham hitman Jermaine Defoe.

Gordon, 26, had to be replaced by Marton Fulop midway through the second half of Saturday's match.

"Craig's in a lot of pain," said Sunderland manager Steve Bruce.
