Lower Lough Avaul is two miles south - west of Glengarriff. There is a joint development between Glengarriff Anglers' Association and the South Western Regional Fisheries Board. The lough holds a stock of wild brown trout and is regularly stocked with large rainbow trout by the fisheries board.
