This 250 acre lake is located in the heart of the unique Burren region in North Clare. It is approx 4 kms .South west of the village of Kilfenora and 4 kms North west of Ennistymon. Lickeen lake is about 2.5 kms long and 0.75kms wide. Lickeen Trout Anglers Co-Operative manage the lake under licence from the Central Fisheries Board. The co-operative stock the lake annually with brown trout and they are involved in improving the environment of the lake area and providing a trout fishery for both visiting and local anglers.
