The internationally renowned Guinness Cork Jazz Festival features over 1,000 musicians in 400 sessions at 70 venues - and it is one of the jewels in the crown of Irish festivals.
The festival offers a broad range of jazz music styles - from blues to bebop, from Dixieland to swing, from jazz rock to electronica. Many of the most famous names in the jazz world regularly participate in concerts at the city's main theatres. There is also an abundance of fringe events including a Jazz Camp for students, a Jazz Choir, a Singers' Corner and lots of related activity - just perfect for a great festive atmosphere.
Another key element is the music trail which offers a broad range of music, day and night, mostly free of charge in the city's superb pubs and hotels.
The festival is world renowned and enters its 36th year in a very positive manner having just had its most successful festival in a decade in 2013 with record attendances, record ticket sales and a superb festival atmosphere.
