The only Stud farm in Ireland open to the public offering daily tours. On the grounds is the world famous Japanese Gardens. The significense of the Japanese Gardens is not only artistic and horticultural but also philosophical.
Over the years a Horse Museum was built where the skeleton the of the legendary 'Arkle' stands along with many horse artifacts. To celebrate the Millennium another garden was added - St. Fiachra's Garden and it opens up a different yet satisfying experience.
Children enjoy taking part in a nature trial in this garden, identifying trees, learning about swan life and the ages of trees. From horse to horticulture, the Irish National Stud offers a unique experience that can be enjoyed at your leisure or as part of a guided tour.
Situated off the M7 motorway, Exit 13 towards Nurney on the opposide side of Kildare Village shopping outlet and 1 mile outside the historical Kildare town with it's Cathedral, Round tower and Heritage centre. Also close by is the Curragh Racecourse , Military Museum & Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park so a great variety to see and places to visit within a 10 mile radius.
