Sat 07 Jul 2006Somali Islamists prepare for warSOMALIA: Islamist leaders yesterday called for Somalis to prepare for war, as residents said Ethiopian troops were moving closer to Mogadishu, seat of the Muslim militia now holding much of the Horn of Africa nation."Somalia is under attack and Somalis must defend their country," senior Islamist leader Sheikh Sharif Ahmed said. "Anybody who sides with Ethiopia will be considered a traitor . . . The Islamic courts will lead the people to victory."
