Carroll out for Georgia friendly

FRIENDLY : NORTHERN IRELAND manager Nigel Worthington will be forced to play some fringe players for his side's friendly international against Georgia at Windsor Park tomorrow night as four of his initial squad were forced to withdraw over the weekend.

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll and Scunthorpe striker Martin Paterson were unable to travel to Belfast due to injury and illness respectively, while Nottingham Forest midfielder Sammy Clingan and West Brom winger Chris Brunt were not asked to report for duty due to club commitments.

Kyle Lafferty hopes to recover from a dead leg sustained in Burnley's defeat to Preston on Saturday to take his place alongside David Healy in attack.
