Cavanagh seals Tyrone's victory

ULSTER UNDER-21 FC/Tyrone 2-10 Cavan 1-10 :  COLM CAVANAGH'S late goal gave 14-man Tyrone a narrow win over Cavan at Omagh.

Six frees from Raymond Galligan put Cavan in a strong position and when Tyrone's Danny McBride was sent off in the 49th minute the visitors had victory within sight.

But the home side staged a strong finish to book a semi-final place. Johnny Lafferty's early goal for Tyrone was cancelled out by Enda Gaffney's quick reply for Cavan and the teams were level 1-6 apiece at the interval.

Cavanagh's crucial goal came in the 54th minute when he flicked Cathal McCarron's free to the net.
