The teams were matched before points from Richie Hogan, JJ Farrell and Mark Bergin put St Pat's up by 0-9 to 0-6 at the break.
The visitors started the second half well and were level through Maurice Nolan 10 minutes into the half. St Pat's then outscored their opponents by three to one in the next 10 minutes.
After Nolan had sent over a free, O'Carroll scored his goal on 52 minutes before adding two more points.
