Find your ancestorsKildare SHC Final/ Confey 3-8 Coill Dubh 0-10 : Confey won their first Kildare senior hurling crown at St Conleth's Park in Newbridge yesterday with a deserved win over Coill Dubh, who have contested 18 of the last 21 finals.
The Leixlip side had a dream start, full forward Eoin Fitzpatrick booting to the net after 20 seconds. Then an opportunist goal from Daragh Nolan on 14 minutes helped them into a 2-5 to 0-6 interval lead.
Although Coill Dubh cut the gap to three points, Confey sealed the victory when Nolan flicked home his second goal from a close-range rebound on 49 minutes.
