Fri 10 Oct 2007Clubs must plan without Irish squad playersMen's Hockey:Following the draw for next year's
Olympic Qualifier, Irish coach Dave Passmore has clarified the
situation regarding players' availability for their clubs this
season. The clubs will have to make do without their internationals
for a sizeable part of the campaign.Members of the Irish squad will not be allowed play for or train
with their clubs between December 9th and February 20th (the
qualifier takes place in Auckland between February 2nd and 10th).
The squad will be cut to 19 (plus two reserves) at the end of the
year, with the reserves permitted to return to full club
commitments then.
