Thu 11 Nov 2002Genesis reforms could cost FAI €1.7mThe FAI faces the prospect of having to stump up around 10 per cent of its annual turnover if it is to fully implement the recommendations of the Genesis report, the contents of which were made public by the organisation on Tuesday evening.Although the report's main author, Genesis chairman Alistair Gray, said yesterday it had not been part of his brief to provide a detailed costing of the report's proposals, he estimated the establishment of a "performance plan" for the association's elite teams could cost up to €900,000 a year, in addition to which it was anticipated the recruitment of five senior executives could add €400,000 to the annual Merrion Square wage bill.
