There is sub-aqua and sailing on the lakes, boating on the canal and several riding and trekking centres on the outskirts of the town. Mullingar has at least three night clubs and any number of pubs and restaurants for eating out. House prices are less expensive and supply plentiful, especially three and four-bedroom semis on new estates. Good shopping venue with some well-known high street retailers.
