SOUNDING OFF Brian Price contacted us about the high cost of toothpaste in Ireland. At his dentist's recommendation, he uses Sensodyne Extra Fresh, which, he says, can cost anywhere from €4.99 in Dunnes, to €6.75 in a pharmacy close to where he works. "I had no problem with that until a recent trip to Spain, where exactly the same paste is on sale for €1.99. I was incensed by what I saw as another case of profiteering in Rip-Off Ireland." p

Too many pages, not enough info Can we have a banks blog? My bank, National Irish Bank, was taken over by Danske Bank. Since the takeover, my Visa statement which was a single A4 sheet has blossomed into three A4 sheets (Danish conservation?). p

Thumbs up London department store Harrods is selling posh pot noodles for over €50 a pop. Customers also get a fork and table linen with the green and gold jar - the colours of the livery of the store in Knightsbridge. Only 100 of the Poulet et Champignon (chicken and mushroom) flavour are being made and the money is going to charity. The store is also planning to sell limited editions of Lea & Perrins worcestershire sauce and Heinz tomato ketchup. p
