the introduction of the Abortion Act there 40 years ago. Many
medical and technological changes have since occurred, giving us a
valuable opportunity to assess the social and human costs of
abortion. In 1967 one could have pleaded blindness to the humanity
of the unborn; in 2007 this is no longer possible.
