Pioneering businessman and dedicated patron of the arts in Ireland
Jim McNaughton: Jim McNaughton, who has died aged
70, was a pioneering and successful businessman in Dublin and a
dedicated patron of the arts. He was born in Nenagh, Co Tipperary,
where his father was assistant county engineer for Tipperary North
Riding. Nine years later the family moved to Carrick-on-Shannon in
Co Leitrim and it was there Jim grew into one of the county's
greatest supporters and in later years one of its greatest
ambassadors. p
