Find your ancestorsThe family of missing woman Fiona Sinnott held a vigil in Wexford town at the weekend to mark the 10th anniversary of her disappearance.
They were joined by hundreds of supporters who prayed as they marched along the quayfront in a silent tributeto Ms Sinnott, who went missing after a night out in the village of Broadway in Co Wexford. There was a strong representation at the march from south Wexford, the home of the Sinnott family.
Ms Sinnott's mother, Mary, said she took great comfort from the support. She said that 10 years on they were now just hoping her remains would be discovered.
"You hear of things happening, of terrible tragedies, but you never think it will come to your door," she said.
Ms Sinnott's father, Patrick, died in 2004, aged 59 years, and the missing woman's mother remarked: "Sometimes I still can't believe that the two of them are gone from the house."
She added that, at least, she and other family members had been able to lay him to rest and she wished to do the same for her daughter.
"It will never be complete until she is found," she said.
